Website creation
Web Design services
An effective website is first and foremost one that loads as quickly as it can be understood and that you actually want to explore.
Too many websites are either beautiful and unusable, or functional and lacking personality. The advantage of working with someone who masters both design and code is that neither will be sacrificed for the other. The mockup is designed with the code in mind, and the code follows the mockup to the pixel.
PicSel designs and develops showcase sites, custom CMS and e-commerce websites, handling the entire project from UX thinking through to go-live.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a showcase site, a CMS site and a custom-built site?
A showcase site is essentially static: it presents your business but doesn’t require frequent updates. A CMS (Content Management System) such as WordPress lets you manage your content yourself without ever touching the code. A custom-built site addresses specific needs and is developed from scratch. In the vast majority of cases, a well-configured CMS covers most of the needs of an SME or sole trader.
Will my site work on mobile and tablet?
Yes, always. Responsive design is no longer optional: it’s a prerequisite. Search engines penalise websites that are poorly adapted for mobile use, since more than half of all web traffic comes from mobile devices. Every site is tested before going live.
Will I be able to update my site myself after delivery?
In most cases, that’s a core objective. Sites developed via CMS are delivered with training on how to use the back office, so you can be self-sufficient and update your text, add images or publish articles. Training tailored to your level is provided where needed. While PicSel can handle maintenance and updates, you should never be forced to rely on it.
How long does it take to build a website?
It depends on the complexity of the project, how clearly the brief is defined, and how quickly feedback is exchanged. A straightforward website can be delivered in three to four weeks. A more complex project (e-commerce, custom features, many pages) may take several months.
Does PicSel also handle hosting and domain names?
PicSel advises and assists you in choosing a hosting provider and registering a domain name, as well as with configuration and setup if needed, but does not offer hosting directly. This approach is deliberate: you remain the owner and manager of your own infrastructure.
My current site is old and slow , does everything need to be rebuilt, or can it be improved?
A preliminary audit determines what can be kept, optimised or needs to be rebuilt. Sometimes a partial redesign, performance optimisation and a CMS update are enough to breathe new life into an existing site. Sometimes the technical debt is too high and starting fresh on solid foundations is the viable medium-term solution.
Is SEO included in the website build?
Technical SEO best practices are built in by default: semantic code structure, correctly filled meta tags, optimised performance, basic accessibility. What PicSel does not offer is editorial SEO, link-building campaigns or guaranteed rankings. These are specialist disciplines requiring specific expertise and ongoing management. The site will be technically sound and ready to be taken further by an SEO specialist if you wish to go down that route.
