Hello. My name is Michaël,
and I am a 44 years old full stack graphist and webdesigner
based in Liège, Belgium, serving pages and logos since allmost 20 years.
Story time
In my young years, I have attended a Master in an Art school (Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Luc Liège) for 4 years. I have learned industrial design, graphism, techniques and layout rules obviously, but also how to have a creative mindset and most of all how to deal with rejection of my work – art school are a rough world… As a creative, being able to leave his ego in the closet is probably the most underrated skill to master…
Finally, right after my studies, I fall directly into the – then – brand new world of webdesign. Since these were the times of the “Internet bubble explosion”, web agencies were flourishing everywhere. Mostly self-thaught in that matter, I have quickly learned HTML along with CSS and Javascript, then ASP, and finally PHP and SQL. After a few years (7) in agencies, I step up and became a freelance, which I am now for a bit more than 12 years. Since then, I have been working for small, medium and big companies on various and exciting print and web projects.
Over the years, I have remained a passionate webdesigner, and I am now able to deal with the entire production flow of a website, from UI/UX design to back-end developments via layout design, front-end integration, CMS deployement, custom development, animation…
In my free time, I practice photography, I try to travel as much as work and money allow me to, and I’m also a certified and passionate OC and CCR diver, engaged in a few personal online projects in this field. Also, as most designers I have met, I enjoy music, video games and movies, and everything that is even slightly related to pictures and images.
